Sahel og Afrika sør for Sahara

 Utstrakt feltarbeid står sentralt i Fafos forskningsarbeid i Sahel og Afrika sør for Sahara. Vi kombinerer kvantitative og kvalitative metoder for å produsere kunnskap av høy kvalitet og relevans.

 

Vår pågående forskning i Afrika fokuserer på:

  • Mobilitet og flyktning-problematikk
  • Krigens og fredsbevaringens økonomi
  • Lokale og globale utviklingstrekk innen utdanning, helse og barnearbeid
  • Sosiale bevegelser og ulikhet
  • Sekularisme og troens politikk i Sahel

Finansieringen av Afrika-prosjektene kommer fra en rekke institusjoner. Blant disse er Norges forskningsråd, det norske utenriksdepartementet, Verdensbanken, United States Institute of Peace og Norad.
