Follow-up survey on sexual harassment in the cultural sector

In 2018, Fafo conducted a survey on sexual harassment among individuals in various professional groups connected to the performing arts sector. The 2018 survey was prompted by the #MeToo movement, where numerous women shared their experiences of sexual harassment or abuse in the workplace through social media.

The survey revealed that sexual harassment was a significant issue in the cultural sector. A total of 32 percent reported having experienced sexual harassment during their careers.

Following the #MeToo campaign and the 2018 survey, several measures were implemented to combat sexual harassment in the industry. These included awareness campaigns and guidelines for appropriate behavior.

The purpose of this follow-up survey is to assess the current status and any changes in the prevalence of sexual harassment among workers in various parts of the cultural sector.
