Freedom of Expression and Whistleblowing among trade union members

The conditions for freedom of expressions and experiences with the whistleblowing provisions in working life will be examined among members of 11 trade unions.

Employees’ freedom of expression may be more relevant than ever. We have just come through a decade marked by political polarisation, cancel culture, increased use of social media, and the spread of false news.

How does this affect employees? Does it, for example, create fear about speaking up about negative conditions in the workplace?

The whistleblowing provisions have also been regularly discussed and criticized during these years. Have the legislative changes helped make whistleblowing safer and more effective, and has employers’ follow-up of reports about wrongdoing changed?
