A new Fafo study will examine how unaccompanied minor refugees are looked after post-settlement.
In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of unaccompanied minor refugees seeking protection in Norway, and at the same time there have been significant changes in the reception and settlement of these. Fafo will investigate how the municipalities look after these young people today, with a particular focus on their care needs, rights and access to services. By using a service perspective, a vulnerability perspective and a rights perspective, as well as a combination of register data analyses, telephone interviews and qualitative case studies in selected municipalities, the project will map challenges, identify success factors and describe good practices to improve the care of this vulnerable group.
