The research project aims to investigate the factors that hinder the growth of Muslim immigrant entrepreneurs in Norway, often referred to as an "invisible ceiling." It seeks to understand how businesses can contribute to socio-economic equality and integration. The project involves a 4-year effort with international collaboration and focuses on Muslim immigrant entrepreneurs in 5 Norwegian cities, Muslim leadership, and relevant organizations. The primary objectives are to understand the entrepreneurial challenges Muslim immigrants face, the role of knowledge systems and Islamic authorities, the financial obstacles they encounter, and their informal solutions. Fafo, a key partner, is responsible for conducting a quantitative survey of 1,200 Muslim entrepreneurs in Norway to gather data on various aspects of their experiences, beliefs, and practices, which will inform academic publications and policy recommendations.
