In this report we discuss Corporate Social Responsibility in Brazil and Norway. We mainly focus on the social dimension of the concept. As we will show, CSR in Brazil and Norway have different meanings, and work in different ways. In this report, we outline how various social groups in the two countries define CSR, and in what ways this difference is expressed. Given the State’s inability to efficiently provide needed services as required to the Brazilian people, businesses have assumed responsibility for preparing workers for the market and assisting them with their social needs. In Norway, CSR is embedded in the Nordic Model.
