Higher vocational education across the Nordic countries

The project is a comparative study of higher vocational education in the Nordic countries.

Higher vocational education has received increased political attention in recent years, both in Norway and internationally.

The vocational education sector plays an important role in meeting both current and future skills needs in the working life. The sector is thus in a critical phase in terms of finding its place in the education system.

In this project, we conduct a comparative study of the institutional arrangement of higher vocational education in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

The purpose is to obtain transferable knowledge that can be used in the further development of the Norwegian higher vocational education sector. We look at, among other things, structure, financing and management, and attractiveness.
