Platform work and social protection of platform workers in Jordan

Mapping the characteristics of workers and working conditions in digital platform companies in Jordan

Assessment of labour intensive programmes in Jordan

The main purpose of the post-assessment is to assist the national "Labour Intensive Infrastructure Programme" in Jordan through collecting former participants’ feedback on the extent to which the programme has contributed to peace and resilience in host communities, with special attention to the relationship between Jordanians and Syrian refugees.

Impact of COVID-19 in Arab States

The project conducts assessments on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in three Arab States: Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon. The assessments will help to better understand the scope of the crisis and some of the pressing issues and concerns which workers from different walks of life are facing today, such as their current employment status, source of income, expenditure channels and poverty levels. These results can help us design new interventions, which meet the needs of these workers.

Refugees for Development

There are 68.5 million forcibly displaced people worldwide, of which 25.4 million are displaced outside their countries of origin. Since the Second World War, the dominant response to refugees has been providing food, shelter and basic services to refugee populations, primarily in designated camps and in most part through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). This "care and maintenance" model has led to unfair burdens on countries hosting refugees and has frustrated international donors that cover the direct financial costs of the support, particularly in situations of protracted displacement where refugee populations live in exile for five consecutive years or more after their initial displacement, and which has been become the norm.

Socio-economic Impact of Afghan Refugees on Pakistan

Sustainable Development Indicators
